28 April 2024

On Tuesday Eddie and Jason helped Gibson prepare props Gibson would use to ask someone to go to Prom. This is a photo of a chalk outline.
They also made a poster.
Gibson checked with the girl's mom to find a time he could set up a crime scene for the girl to find. Jason was the corpse.
This is a photo of Gibson with Adia, after she found the crime scene and accepted Gib's invitation.
Brandan had a few days off of work this week so Becky took Thursday off and joined him on a hike up Lower Tablerock. It was a bit rainy, but the thousands of wildflowers were well worth getting a little wet.

Becky went back to school on Friday for parent conferences. Gibson had the day off of school. Brandan rented a sod cutter and invited Gibson, Jason and the elders in our ward to help pull up the sod in our back yard.
From the left are Jason, Elder Nebeker, Elder Miller, Elder Crump and Gibson. We're goin to shrink down the amount of grass we have in our backyard and plant more trees.

Helen and friends made T-shirts on Friday night.

Here's a photo with their finished T-shirts.

Our friend's daughter celebrated her quinceanera on Saturday night and we were delighted to attend. The party was a fun mix of Mexican and church culture, kind of like a ward dinner with better decorations and dancing. Dahlia looked beautiful and well loved.

The music and dancing were irresistible. After a very fast dance, we stopped at the photo wall to get our picture taken.

21 April 2024

Helen made bouquets and decorated plant pots with friends on Saturday, April 6. This photo is from the residence halls instagram page.

Here's a close up of the pot she painted and a flower she made out of legos.

This is photo of Helen getting ready for an event with some friends. From the left are Paige, Helen, Lily, Kristen and Ivy.

Here they are later the same night.

This is a photo of our stake audiovisual room on Monday night.

Brandan picked up some shelves to help organize the space. We put the shelves together for family night on Monday. Our stake has a talented A/V team that creates magic when broadcasting events in two languages. They have a lot of equipment to work with that needs storage space between events. They will be surprised by the new shelves the next time they are at the stake center.

This is a photo of Helen and friends studying outside. From the left are Ivy, Paige, Helen, Paige, Hannah and Kiley.

Helen went to a David Kushner concert on Saturday night. From the left are Noah, Lilly, Benito, Joe, Paige, Ava, Ivy, Helen and Alex.

Brandan put up more shelves in our garage and organized the space better.

On Saturday Brandan volunteered to help with improvements along the Bear Creek Greenway. The volunteers cleaned up trash and spread fresh bark chips. This annual earth day event had the best turn out yet with over 50 volunteers.

14 April 2024

This is a photo of Abe with his MTC district on his birthday, April 3. His class wrote birthday messages in Korean on the white board.

Gibson almost singlehandedly completed a 1000 piece puzzle during two days of general conference.

This is a photo of the completed puzzle. It was a little meta to work on putting together the Golden Gate Bridge at the same time Elder Stevenson talked about building the Golden Gate Bridge (see Bridging the Two Great Commandments from Sunday afternoon.)

Abe and a missionary in his district wore matching ties this week. Abe's tie was a birthday gift from Cece.

This is a photo of Abe and friends after tennis. From the left are Camden, Katrina, Cece, Aspen, Abe and Ashton.

Brandan made reservations for Friday night at the Lindsay Lodge in the Applegate to celebrate our 29th anniversary. The lodge is a historic building in a beautiful location along the Applegate River.

On Saturday we explored Cantrall Buckley Park. Cheryl D. Garcia, a local artist, has several art pieces installed in the park, including this oversized iris.

Abe's first year of college is rapidly coming to an end. He and his friends will be splitting up over the summer before reuniting in the fall. They plan on renting a house together next year. Abe sent this photo of the boys up a canyon near Provo. From the left are Camden. Jake, Malachi, Abe, Ashton and Spencer.

7 April 2024

Helen went to a Masquerade at the U last Friday. From the left are Brig, Ivy, Hannah, Paige, Kristen, TJ, Lily, Helen and Benito.

Helen, Sofi and Abe met up while Sofi was in Salt Lake City las week.

After lunch they went to the Hansen Planetarium where they played with a green screen.

We tried out some new ideas for Easter this year, including making Middle Eastern food for dinner. We like Middle Eastern food and it seems appropriate since Jesus lived in Judea.

Our dessert was not Middle Eastern, but a carrot cake baked in the shape of a bunny going headfirst into a hole in the grass.

Helen went on a  sunrise hike on Wednesday. In the photo are Brig, Helen and Ivy.

The beautiful sunrise was worth waking up for.

Helen's friend, Kristen, was called to serve a mission to Adelaide, Australia. This is a photo of Kristen with her mission call. Front: Helen, Ivy, Paige, Kristen, TJ, Hannah and Lily. Back row: Brig, James and Dietrek.

Wade and Steph'e family visited for their spring break. Kaylee brought a big packet of calculus homework to do. This is a photo of Gibson and Kaylee doing their calculus homework today.

Here's a photo of Emma, Dallin and Kaylee with Gibson. We loved having their family visit and look forward to seeing more of them this summer.

Abe and Cece went to Malad with friends for conference weekend. Abe sent this photo of their watch party.

Helen sent some of the notes she took during conference. It's been an uplifting weekend full of reminders of the importance of covenants, temples and God's love for all of His children.
