Brandan's sister Becky and her husband Aaron are expecting their first baby, due any minute. Becky made them this quilt to welcome their baby girl.

Becky pulled the TV out Thursday night to watch Obama's inspiring speech and soon all the kids were lined up to watch, too. We're raising the next generation of informed citizens.

We spent the last Saturday of the summer on the Jedediah Smith River in the Redwood Forest. Brandan, Sophie and Abe floated a section of the very lazy river. It took them 1-1/2 hours to float less than 1/2 a mile.

Becky learned from them and floated a shorter section with Abe and Sophie.

Helen liked floating on the inner tube in a shallow spot near the beach.

There were lots of tiny frogs in the river. Sophie caught and released a few. We saw a couple of snakes, too, but no one tried to catch them.

Gibson's idea of heaven is digging. He spent a couple of hours at the edge of the river digging holes and filling them in again. When we were ready to go, Brandan dunked Gibson in the river to clean him off and Becky carried him to the car to change for the drive home.

I wish I could be like you Becky! You people are my superheroes. I need to do some time management and figure out how to:
garden, bake, sew, do science projects, park attendee, marathon runner, piano lessons regulator, cook for the missionaries (regularly), be a political analyst, woodworker, craft specialist and oh yeah...professional Sacrament meeting doodler.
Need I say more. I am so impressed and it all comes naturally! Some people's children!...I've got to get your "life's recipe"
Hugss, it was good to see you this weekend.
Amen to Magui's comment.
You guys got to see each other this weekend? Fun, fun!
What a beautiful quilt! I'm envious of your talent. That river looks like terrific fun. We can't wait to see you again next month!
