3 May 2009

Brandan was gone to a conference for part of the week.  At the same time, our kids were suffering from fevers and runny noses (not the swine flu, we hope.)  It was a good week to snuggle on the couch and watch lots of movies.  Or at least the same movie over and over again.

A cute idea seen in San Diego + gorgeous fabric from Sarah = designer shopping bags.  This fun project was essentially free, took one morning to do and now Becky feels 35% more stylish at the grocery store than she did a week ago.

With Brandan home and the kids feeling better, our family participated in the city-wide clean-up on Saturday.  We picked up litter for a couple of hours.  Hard to imagine a cuter clean-up crew.

Kudos to Sophie, who not only picked up her share of trash, but gently shepherded Gibson at the same time.

Becky, found your blog from Allisons. Love the designer grocery bags! You always come up with (and follow through with) the greatest ideas. Annie wore her darling apron all afternoon as we made Mothers Day crafts for my Mom. thanks for the cute apron! I'll send you an invite to our blog. Tiffany

Great. Designer bags. Now I have one more must-do project to add to the list of other great ideas that unlike you, will never get done. Leave it to those posh ladies in San Diego to even hit the grocery stores in high fashion. Now I'll be green with envy when I haul around my "green" reusable sacks.

I love how many smiles there are in your blog photos, even if the kids are sick. They seem to weather the storms pretty well. What great helpers with the cleanup. Oh, I love the idea about the grocery bags and since my mom just gave me a sewing machinie, I deem this my first project.

What a great idea! The shopping bad dress up idea, I mean. I liked the city wide clean up idea, too. Although I think my clean up crew might have been equally as cute. Only I'm not sure. I wasn't there, I stayed in bed, while they cleaned. And I read my book and didn't get dressed until dinner time.

Love the bags. You do have the cutest cleaning crew in Oregon. Hope you are all feeling better there.
