| Here's a photo of Sophie in front of Lower South Falls. This waterfall is shorter than South Falls, and prettier. |
We warmed up after our hike at a terrific lodge built by the CCC during the Great Depression. The park volunteers kept a large fire burning in a huge stone fireplace. |
Here's Gibson inside a model of a Gemini space capsule. Except for his feet not reaching the ceiling, he looked pretty snug. It's hard to believe this tiny spacecraft was built for 2 adult men. |
| We spent Wednesday at the Portland Zoo. The kids started the day with lots of energy. Here they are pretending to be baby eagles. |
| Back at home, we celebrated Gibson's 4th birthday on Saturday. Brandan made delicious pancakes for breakfast. Yoda tasted much better than you'd expect anything 900 years old to taste. |

Every time we go to Portland we talk about stopping at Silver Falls. So now we know it will be worth the visit.
Happy Birthday Gibson! I love his cake. Very creative.
If your kids want to see animals in action, they can come over and play with our bird.
Silver Falls looks amazing - plus, I love that one hike could include so many waterfalls.
Happy Birthday, Gibson! Hope you had a terrific day and you got the card we sent. Loved the cake and the idea of incorporating all the characters he wanted. :)
Soph, you are so creative! I just saw the post about your outfits for school.
Helen, congratulations on your recital. I'm sure it sounded wonderful!
Abe, just thought I'd say hi. :)
It looks like you delivered on the cake.
Glad you could get away and have a fun family vacation over the break.
