Helen got to try out rock climbing at a friend's birthday party this week. She had a great time. Our climbing wall at home is only 8 feet tall. Helen made it to the top of the climbing wall at the gym.
After a long break, Brandan and Sofi are back at work building a harp. Brandan needed a jointer to square up the wood they are going to use, but didn't think the harp justified buying another power tool. He learned how to use his planer like a jointer, however, so he and Sofi spent some time this week starting to get the wood ready to cut into a harp shape.
What is missing from this photo?
A pager! Brandan's clinic joined the 21st century this week and decided there is no reason to page doctors when you can text them. Brandan has worn a pager for nearly 13 years.
Our kids didn't have school this Friday and were invited to a fun Halloween party. Their costumes aren't finished, but the party was a good excuse to pull out favorite costumes from past Halloweens. Sofi has been practicing zombie makeup, so she was very glad to have a subject to test her abilities on.
I remember when all my high school had pagers. I still don't understand why. But I guess that's why I am so behind on "texting" language. I never got with the program. I have to text people back and ask them what they are trying to say.
Holy cow! I can't believe I know someone who makes harps in the garage! Costumes look great for this year too. Funny about the pagers. I guess it is hard to break away from the way it has always been done.

Wow, Sofi's learning the harp? (or going to?)
