23 October 2016

Becky started making Gibson and Helen's Halloween costumes this week.

Gibson drew this picture as a guide for how to make his costume.  He's going as a superhero of his own invention-- Gravity Gibson.  Gravity Gibson can change his own and other people's gravity.

Over the years, Becky has used this pattern to make a rich witch, Cruella DeVille, Voldemort and a Scottish dude.  She's never made an astronaut, fireman or cowboy.  This year she's using it to make a coat for Helen's pirate captain costume.

This spooky sugar skull fabric will be the lining for the pirate captain's coat.

The skulls glow in the dark.

Our friend was in charge of signing up volunteers for the neighborhood school's Halloween carnival.  Usually parents help with the booths.  This year she asked middle school students to help instead.  The middle schoolers did a great job.  Abe helped at the Pumpkin Putting booth.

Helen started the night helping at the Swamp Fishing booth.

Since Abe and Helen were working at the carnival all night, Gibson came along to play the games and win prizes and candy.  His Halloween costume for this year isn't finished so he wore Abe's pink hippo costume from 5 years ago.

We found Helen at the Bed of Nails booth later.

Helen ended the night working at the Spider Bowling booth with her friend, Clara.
