As predicted, the chair by the Christmas tree is now the favorite seat in the house.
Reading and napping are the most common activities.
Adding a blanket makes it extra cozy.
We like the activity and bustle of Christmas, but we also like the moments of quiet contemplation.
Wednesday was St. Nicholas Day and the kids woke up to candy in their shoes. Becky also made them new pajama bottoms. Helen pulled her pajamas on right away.
Helen played her violin in a Christmas concert Friday night. All the songs the choir performed contained the words Alleluia or Hallelujah. Helen is in the front left of the photo.
On Saturday we ran an ugly sweater 5K. Becky picked up an assortment of Christmas sweaters at Goodwill and our sweaters were only mildly tacky. We were impressed with the variety of really ugly sweaters.
Saturday was also the annual Music at the Mall performance. Abe played "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."
Gibson played a duet with his teacher, Marsha, "Little Drummer Boy."
He played "Deck the Halls" by himself.
Helen played "Jingle Bells," "Silent Night" and "The First Noel/ Christmas Eve Waltz."
The performance area was set up next to a set of escalators. All through the recital, the kids asked if they could ride on the escalators. They finally got a turn after the recital was over.
