27 September 2015

Helen and Gibson's class performed a Halloween play called "The Haunting Contest" at their school assembly.  The plot was simple-- all of the goblins appeared before the goblin king and queen and the goblin council to state their case for being chosen to haunt on Halloween.  Helen was the goblin king.  She is sitting on a throne on the left of the photo.

Gibson was a jack-o-lantern.  Each group of goblins sang a song to say why they were especially spooky.  Besides jack-o-lanterns, there were witches, scarecrows and ghosts.

At the end of the play, the actors performed a dance to Silento's popular song, "Watch Me."  You can see the music video here .

Helen put together her own costume out of our dress-ups.  She borrowed Gib's church shirt and put a plastic spider in her pocket for a pet.

Gib drew his jack-o-lantern face on an orange shirt.  The play was fun to watch and a big hit with the whole school.

Helen, Brandan and Sofi painted together on Saturday afternoon using paints that belonged to Brandan's mom.  Brandan and Sofi worked on ocean scenes.  Helen painted a sunflower.  Helen is the only one who finished.  We'll post a photo of the three paintings when they're all done.
