8 March 2020

On Tuesday night the high school held an exhibition to showcase some of the students' excellent work.  This is a photo of Helen with her underwater robot team, Lucy and Aunika.  Helen spent most of the night watching her fellow freshmen give their English speeches and waiting for her turn to give a speech.  The rest of us looked at the other exhibits.

Helen made poster about the invention of the typewriter for her history class.  Gibson tried out one of the typewriters on display.

For math, Helen calculated the value of the land the high school is built on and made this attractive poster to present her results.

Abe programmed a game of checkers for his programming class.

In this photo, Gibson is watching a video of Abe playing the song he composed for his English class project.  The score for the music is displayed behind the laptop.  Abe's principal had heard the song twice before and asked Abe to play it again at the exhibition.

On Thursday Gibson was inducted into National Junior Honor Society.  Gibson is a great example of the principles of NJHS: leadership, scholarship, service, character and citizenship.

This is a photo of Gib with two of his buddies, Coltrane and Levi.

A sign of the times: Helen's violin teacher posted this note on the door to her studio.  Brandan was supposed to be in California this week at a medical leadership conference, but the conference was canceled due to the corona virus.  Besides wanting to discourage thousands of people from traveling, the organizers felt the medical leaders attending the conference should be preparing for the virus in the communities where they live.  We're using the outbreak as an opportunity to check over our plans for an emergency and strengthen our family where we are lacking.
