This week the boys learned how to attach their speakers to a bluetooth receiver. They each created a circuit on a breadboard construction base. Because the breadboard is solder-less, they could move the parts around if they didn't connect them correctly the first time. Each step is taking a bit longer than anticipated and they hope to finish this project after spring break.
This photo is from inside the high school stadium! Beginning on Thursday, each player can have 2 fans attend home games. In this photo the team is finishing warming up and heading to the side lines for the start of the game.
Becky and Helen signed up to be Abe's +2. We had to provide our names and phone numbers a day in advance. Helen changed her mind and decided to watch the game with Abigail and her sisters from outside the fence. The stadium was mostly empty with about 20 spectators. Still, we had a great view of the game and enjoyed cheering for Crater.
Friday marked the end of the 2nd trimester for the kids and was a day off from school. We met some friends in Ashland for a hike. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Here are Gib and Eddy.
We were looking for the Bandersnatch trail, but we couldn't find the trailhead. We hiked a short way up a trail along Ashland Creek.
Eventually the trail petered out. Toward the end, we scrambled over lots of boulders and tree roots. We could see a dirt road on the other side of the creek and decided to return to our cars using the road. This meant we had to cross the creek, which wasn't a big deal for the humans on the hike. The creek was shallow and there were many logs and rocks to choose from to get across without getting wet. However, our friends have a young dog who was frightened of the cold water and unsure how to cross. When coaxing and cajoling didn't work, Tyler picked Edge up and carried him across, quite a feat considering how big and anxious Edge was.
This is a photo of Helen, Becky and Gibson back at the beginning of the hike. We're going to go back another day to find the Bandersnatch trail. This area is beautiful and deserves another look.
Jason figured out that he can attach his Nintendo switch to our projector so Gib, Jason and Eddy played games after our hike. After Eddy went home, Jason and Gibson taught Helen how to play and the three spent most of the evening playing together.
We got a new garage door this week and although the bright, white door matched our garage, we wanted it to be dark blue like our previous door. After a busy Saturday, Becky started painting about 5 pm, working quickly as the daylight faded. Prepping and masking took so long that the sun went down before she painted very much.
Meanwhile, Brandan finished making dinner inside and came out to help. We finished about 7:30 pm. Our paint job looked pretty good in the dark, but in the daylight we can see places to touch up.
