14 September 2025

We spent Friday night at the Lake of the Woods as cooks for the regional single adult overnight campout. The activity started as a stake activity and spread to singles across our region with people from Klamath Falls, Grants Pass, and Cave Junction as well as the Rogue Valley.

This was one of those service opportunities where we received more than we gave. Brandan did all of the grocery shopping for the event and we had a great crew of help to make breakfast, lunch and to clean up. In return, we enjoyed deepening friendships and meeting wonderful people, a fantastic fireside (literally by the fireside) from our stake president, star gazing on the docks led by a thermal engineer who worked on constructing the international space station, and spiritual and physical renewal from the beautiful scenery. This is photo from Saturday morning as the mist lifted from the lake.

We took a walk in the woods after cleaning up from breakfast.

One woman brought her granddaughters and Brandan took the twin sisters on canoe rides. This was their first time in a canoe and they found floating on the water magical.
