19 September 2021

Gibson auditioned for the youth orchestra this week. He played Scherzo by Carl Webster for his audition. This is a photo of Gib warming up beforehand.

The elders taught us a lesson about the Atonement. Abe joined us during a break from his MTC class.

Abe made stacks of tiny flashcards to study Korean vocabulary.

It's a very unusual soccer season. So far practices and games have been canceled because of Covid, wildfire smoke, lack of bus drivers and lack of referees. Gibson had three games scheduled this week and two of them took place. Gib is finding his groove as a defender. This is a photo from Crater's game versus South Medford on Tuesday. Crater won, 5-0.

We went to the airport early Wednesday morning to say goodbye to Camden. He is now learning Spanish at the Provo MTC before serving in St. George, Utah. From the left are Abe, Malakai, Camden and Ashton.

Becky has a few days left before her classes start. It's very quiet now that Helen and Gibson are back in school and Abe is either studying or in class. She started knitting a hat.

Wanting to build his confidence before he leaves home, Abe shopped for his own groceries this week and cooked his own meals. He chose basic ingredients which he will definitely be able to find in South Korea like chicken, eggs, potatoes, carrots, broccoli and rice. This is a photo of vegetable soup he made for lunch.

With a full school schedule, violin, piano and DECA, Helen decided to quit working at Old Navy. Saturday was her last day. This is a photo of Helen in action.

She and her friend, Madlen, wore matching dresses.

On Saturday night Helen went to her friend, Emma's Mamma Mia themed birthday party. From the left are Kayleigh, Mia, Emma, Olivia, Lexie, Mary, Emma, Molli, Elizabeth, Talli, Annie, Scott, Seth, Marcus and Helen.
