This photo is from last week and shows the completion of Gibson's Eagle project. He and Brandan finished up a few adjustments and moved the furniture into the cabin. It looks great!
We have 4 missionaries assigned to our ward right now, 3 of them waiting for Peru to open up to missionaries again. Our ward covers half of our small town and the missionaries don't have a car so they are limited in their P-Day outings. Abe and Becky picked them up on Monday and took them to Jaspers, a restaurant known for its delicious and sometimes exotic hamburgers, including the Jiffy burger which includes peanut butter. Abe had chipotle-raspberry jam on his burger and 2 elders tried boar meat. Most of us ordered more traditional choices.
The youth in our ward joined with other members of our community and planted 1000 daffodil bulbs on Wednesday night. From the left are Emma, Gibson, Elder Mason, Elder Jensen, Lila, Helen and Annie. Vienna is in the foreground.
Becky finished knitting this hat. Sofi's bishop's wife wrote the pattern for the hat. It has been the most complicated thing Becky has knit in a while. Steaming and pressing the hat helped even out the stitches.
Brandan's clinic is having a pumpkin decorating contest so we went pumpkin shopping on Friday night. The pumpkin stand was so cute and cheerful that we took a photo. We'll post more photos after Brandan decorates his pumpkin.
Abe got news on Friday night that he has been reassigned to the Syracuse, New York mission. He didn't receive any more news than that, even simple things like when he will leave for his mission. We found a little more information about the Syracuse mission online, including a map of its area. Abe is very excited about this twist in his adventure.

On Saturday morning we went to help with a community clean up of the Bear Creek Greenway.
We cleared some brush and lots of flammable pine needles and spread mulch on patches of bare dirt.
Helen and Gibson were interviewed about the project for the newspaper.
After the clean up, we wandered around an art fair on Pine Street. Helen and Gib's friend, also named Gib, had his own booth selling wooden items he turned on a lathe.
Abe's MTC district found a youtube video of Abe playing the piano and have asked him many times to give them a live performance. Abe played for them this week. You can see his district on zoom on the laptop on the music stand.
Abe had his last day of MTC on Saturday. It was sad to say goodbye to his new friends and teachers. Hopefully he will get to see most of them in a few weeks in South Korea. In the meantime, we are hoping for more news about his reassignment on Monday.
