It snowed Wednesday morning, a skiff that wasn't even enough to cancel school.
Becky flew to Salt Lake on Wednesday. A much bigger storm in Utah delayed her flight by about 12 hours so she didn't make it in until Wednesday night. On Thursday she met Sofi after work at the cafe in the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Sofi's boss, Rhett, bought us lunch which Sofi expertly constructed.
Then we moved Sofi out of the dorms for the last time! It was still snowing while we rolled bins of her belongings out to the car.
Hooray for Emma, Sofi's roommate, who borrowed her dad's truck so we could move everything in one trip instead of driving back and forth all day in our little rental car.
Sofi and Emma will live in a tiny basement apartment in Bountiful. The apartment is small, but it's in a quiet neighborhood and has a great view of the Bountiful temple.
Sofi still had her honors thesis and a paper for her senior seminar to finish on Friday, but we started the day out right with a session at the Bountiful temple.
Brandan took Helen, Ed and Gibson to see Spiderman: No Way Home on Friday night. They all loved the movie.
Out in Utah, Becky finished assembling Sofi's bed and Sofi finished her final college assignments. The bed merits a photo because it came packed flat in two boxes and took about 9 hours over two days to build. Sofi now has a bed and a bookcase so she's set.
Becky and Sofi flew back to Oregon on Saturday, an easy trip with no delays this time.
Brandan put together a delicious charcuterie lunch to welcome us home. Sofi will stay until January 6. We're so happy to have her home! She won't feel like she can relax about school until she gets the final approval for her thesis, but she is essentially finished with her undergraduate degree.
On Saturday night Helen went to a Christmas party at Mary's house. They had a gingerbread decorating contest. Helen, Olivia and Emma tied for first place with this cute house.
