2 October 2022

Helen played the violin as part of a musical number for our ward's ward conference last Sunday. This is a photo of Helen warming up before the meeting with Rebeka and Spencer. They performed Jesus, Redeemer of My Soul.

Helen takes anything on her wrists off before she plays which means she has an interesting collection of items in her violin case.

Our friends, Jim and Marilyn, sent us a box of treats from South Korea, including this package of Korean churro snacks, kind of a cultural mash up. The package also includes shrimp flavored potato chips, gummy candies, ramen noodles and some cookies.Jim and Marilyn sent the treats in honor of Abe serving in South Korea right now.

On Thursday Helen performed a fall concert with the Siskiyou Violins. This is a photo of the group lining up to get their photo taken before the concert. Helen is in the back row.

Our local newspaper delivered its last printed edition on Friday morning. They now only have a digital version online. While we are continuing our subscription, it will feel very different. We will miss giving the newspaper to our friends when they are recognized for their achievements.

We are in the middle of a wonderful conference weekend. The talks have been direct, simple and refreshing. We had the elders for dinner on Saturday night and they stayed to watch the evening session with us. In the photo, Elder Shelly is working on our puzzle while Elder Pack takes notes on the couch.

After conference, Helen and Gibson had some friends over for  a movie night and they quickly finished the puzzle. We put out a new puzzle for Sunday.
