30 March 2025

Gibson asked Adia to prom this week. This photo is from Sunday night as he made a poster.

He asked her Monday afternoon. Adia's mom let Gibson decorate while Adia was at work. Pink is Adia's favorite color.

This week was spring break and we checked off some of the to-do items for Gibson's mission, including picking up a typhoid vaccine at Costco.

We transplanted some bamboo plants from wooden barrels that were decomposing into holes lined with a thick plastic barrier. One of our bamboo plants is a clumping variety and stays where it should. The other sends out runners and could easily take over our yard if it weren't contained.

Becky went hiking with Andrea on Tuesday and enjoyed the sunshine and wildflowers. Although in this photo the flowers look like dead leaves.

Becky decided to make a quilt for Adia for graduation. Since school will be very busy until the end of the year, spring break was the best time to sew the quilt top. Becky cut out all the pieces on Monday.

The pattern alternated tall cats and short cats.

Here is the finished quilt, featuring lots of pink cats.

The highlight of our week was celebrating Gibson's 18th birthday! Brenda and Mark, Abe's Sunday School teachers, stopped by with a treat.

Gibson is a remarkable man: steady, sturdy, helpful, talented, thoughtful, competent, responsible, smart and easy going.

Adia gave Gibson tickets to Hamilton. The show was in Eugene on Saturday.

It was super thoughtful gift. Adia and Gib had a great day trip together.

Our family helped clean the church on Saturday. While walking out to the dumpster we noticed how beautiful the temple looked with its Spring blooms.
