29 November 2020

We started our Thanksgiving morning with our own family Turkey Trot, since the community one was canceled this year.  Gibson stayed home, but the rest of us ran a loop around our neighborhood.

After our morning run, it was time to start on our dinner plan. In order to enjoy dinner and get everything cooked in one oven, we started our feast preparations on Monday. Our final plan for Thursday was written out to make sure the timing would work and keep us on track.

With lots of helping hands, we sat down to a delicious meal right on time.

We made everyone's favorite Thanksgiving dishes and perhaps it's not surprising our dinner looked a lot like dinners across America.

This is a photo that lists some of the things we are thankful for.

After dinner we played Scrabble and watched a movie. Gibson was the Scrabble champ, winning with "quart" on a triple word score.

Abe and Abigail made a gingerbread house this week.  They baked the gingerbread on Wednesday and decorated it on Friday.

Their finished house is super cute.

They also worked on the puzzle we've had up all week. It's fun to work on puzzles with Abe because he is so fast at finding pieces and doesn't mind if you only work on the easy spots.

Gibson and Abe finished the puzzle, a gorgeous landscape, on Saturday.

Abe worked Saturday evening and Helen had gobs of homework.  Brandan hung Christmas lights outside and Gibson and Becky decorated for Christmas inside.

This is Becky's Christmas treasure: nativity photos of our kids from every year since 2002.

Love, love these sweet children and all the Christmas memories!
