21 November 2021

Helen and Gibson's Chinese class practiced calligraphy this week. From the left are Gibson, Helen, Tayvon and Jason.

Brandan took the week off work. He spent most of the week working on projects, but went with Becky on Thursday to try out a new bakery that is owned by a member of our stake. The bakery had a wide variety of enticing treats, including delicious gluten free scones and cookies.

After a challenge from their Young Women's leader, Helen and her friends organized a group date. They went bowling and then had ice cream at Annie's house. From the left are Annie, Helen, Scott, Seth, Marcus and Sierra.

On Saturday morning we ran in our stake turkey trot, a very fun run.

This is a photo of Brandan and Becky at the starting line.

Gibson ran with Jason. Helen stayed home for this fun run, but 'tis the season for our favorite community events and she'll join us for our other runs.

We hurried home after the turkey trot to shower and then drove to Sacramento. Our temple is still closed for renovations so we made an appointment to do family baptisms at the Sacramento temple. It's a 5 1/2 hour drive and we got to the temple just in time for our appointment.

The Sacramento temple is very beautiful, inside and out, but the Spirit we felt transcended the beauty and we left filling blessed by our experience.

We stopped at a outlet mall and got dinner at a food truck before heading home again. We're glad we could make our quick temple trip and we're more anxious than ever for our own temple to reopen. We miss the blessing of being in the temple regularly!
